This 90-minute webinar will include a basic introductory overview of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) nondiscrimination requirements for outdoor recreational providers and operators including tips, tools, and resources for best practices.  Participants will also gain a greater understanding of the disability market inclduing the many ways people recreate today.  Presenters will share and use real-life operational examples and experiences to illustrate some successful and some not-so-successful instances.  With this information comes confidence in fostering an ongoing inclusive business model to create not only ADA compiance, but a clear advantage over your competition.  Most people desire outdoor recreation for a variety of reasons  Does your program or business model welcome and strive to make "the Great Outdoors" accessible to all customers?  How can yourprogram or business model be better prepared to welcome and make recreation accessible to patrons with disabilities?  To whom and where can I go when you have questions?  This session will provide some answers to these questions.
 

Learning Objectives

  1. Gain a greater awareness and understanding of the general disability population and market.
  2. Learn the basic nondiscrimination requirements, obligations, and compliance issues under the ADA.
  3. Explore real-life experiences and examples of inclusives policies and procedures providers and operators have successfully implemented.
