Ethics for VR Counselors

This training will provide an overview of the professional and ethical principles applied to professionals who work at Washington Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. The professional's responsibilities and duties will be explored in the context of the CRC and other codes of ethics. An ethical decision making model will be reviewed and applied. Relevant factors to be explored include: professional responsibilities and boundaries, mandatory reporting, dual relationships, and confidentiality (including how to ethically manage social media).

Upon completion, the participant will be able to:

  • Increase ability to identify ethical dilemmas and violations through the application of models of ethical decision making.
  • Apply ethical decision making to a variety of scenarios provided by professionals who work in Vocational Rehabilitation.
