September 22-23 and 29-30 will feature a training Academy specific to Homeless Outreach Workers. The training will be provided by Corporation for Supportive Housing staff over these four days in a virtual format using Zoom.
Sponsored by the Washington State Health Care Authority (WA HCA)this Outreach Academy will provide training for direct service providers that conduct outreach to individuals who are experiencing homelessness and also living with a mental health condition, Substance Use Disorder (SUD) or occurring disorder. This training will help attendees to gain the resources and knowledge they need to safely and successfully conduct outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness, increase staff retention, and build knowledge and skills for those supervising individuals who take part in this work, including peers.
Training will be provided by nationally recognized staff of the CSH (Corporation for Supportive Housing), AHP (Advocates for Human Potential), and local subject matter experts. This virtual event will be managed through the Center for Continuing Education at the University of Washington. Planned Activities include: De-escalation, Self-Care, Harm Reduction, Trauma-Informed Supervision and elevating the work of Peers.
