Emerging Leaders
The Emerging Leaders Series is a program designed to develop and enhance the leadership skills of managers in public and private, non-profit rehabilitation agencies nationally. The program primarily targets mid-managers of state rehabilitation agencies and large non-profit programs, and upper-level managers of other community rehabilitation programs, Client Assistance Programs, Independent Living Centers, and similar organizations. The program consists of 12 days of training divided into three weeks.
Leading vs. Managing
Vision is the reason, mission is what we do, and culture is how we choose to show up individually and collectively. As leaders do we model the way and inspire staff to follow or do we manage people and things. Each style creates different dynamics, different outcomes, and results. In this session we will discuss common strategies and learn new strategies to empower change through effective leadership. Do we have the skills and knowledge to be authentic leaders - Leading people and managing things or managing people and managing things. Articulating where we are going and "The WHY."
Aspiring Leadership
This session includes basics of leadership in vocational rehabilitation. Content includes the eight styles of leadership and how each style creates different outcomes and results, how we choose to show up as leaders, as well as the inclusion of tips and strategies for leadership roles in VR. VR roles to consider may include emerging leaders, current leaders, and struggling leaders.
Leading from Any Chair
An overview of leadership characteristics and how those show up in any role we assume at work and/or in our personal lives. With so much out of our control, how do we still lead no matter where we reside? This course focuses on tapping into people's core values and helping them to achieve a clear understanding of why they work in VR and move more into The Why and less into The What's and The How's.
Transition Management
This training includes:
- Surviving and Leading Staff Through Change
- Transition Management and Internal Challenges
- The Three Phases of Transition in Management During Organizational Change
