CCER's VR Projects and Services team can put together a leadership training activity to fit your organization's needs. Choose from the list of topics below, combine topics, or propose a new training topic that will help you achieve your organization's leadership goals.
Emerging Leaders
The Emerging Leaders Series is a program designed to develop and enhance the leadership skills of managers in public and private non-profit rehabilitation agencies within the Pacific Northwest. The program is intended primarily for mid-managers of state rehabilitation agences and large non-profit programs, and upper-level managers of other comunity rehabilitation programs, Client Assitance Programs, Independent Living Centers, and similar organizations. The program consists of 12 days of training divided into three sessions of three days each. More info.
Leading vs. Managing
Vision is the reason, mission is what we do, and culture is how we choose to show up individually and collectively. As leaders do we model the way and inspire staff to follow or do we manage people and things. Each style creates different dynamics, different outcomes, and results. In this session we will discuss common strategies and learn new strategies to empower change through effective leadership. Do we have the skills and knowledge to be authentic leaders - Leading people and managing things or managing people and managing things. Articulating where we are going and "The WHY."
Apsiring Leadesrship
This session includes basics of leadership in Vocational Rehabilitation. Content includes the eight styles of leadership and how each style creates different outcomes and results, as well as the inclusion of 20 tips of leadership and roles in VR and the consideration of supervision, managing, and leadership focuses and outcomes reflective of evidence-based practices in VR research (Sabella). This class is offered in three, 6-hour segments or a 9-week option.
Leading from Any Chair
An overview of leadership characteristics and how to separate out the characteristics from the role of leadership or management. With so much out of our control how do we still lead no matter where we reside - whether in our personal life or our responsibilities and role at work?
