Intro to Psychotropic Medication

A Psychopharmacology Overview

This class is designed to provide rehabilitation counselors and other rehabilitation professionals with increased knowledge about common psychotropic medications many of their clients are prescribed and what these medications are designed to do for their clients.

Do you have clients on psychotropic medications and want to know: 

  • Possible side effects
  • Whether you are seeing effects of medication, non-medication, or over-medication
  • How to judge complaints about clients perceptions of medications
  • How are psychotropic medications supposed to work?
  • What are the down sides?

Presenter: Dr. William "Skip" Cochran has a Ph.D. in Psychology and is licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Arkansas. He has completed board certification for the Prescribing Psychologist Register. He has 20 years of experience in the field of rehabilitation as a training coordinator and in direct service provision and 10 years of experience in the field of Mental Health in providing clinical services and as an administrator.

Up to 01.5 CRC credits offered per individual.
