This training provides an opportunity for counselors to bring, within confidential guidelines, ethical issues of the profession for discussion. This is an overview of the current CRC code as of January 2017 with a focus on some emphasized changes, such as cultural humility, use of personal/professional disclosure statements, and decision making models. Group and classwork will apply these points and practices. Relevant factors to be explored include: professional boundaries; dual relationships; confidentiality; virtual and social media relationships; technology and challenges; and collaborations with rehabilitation partners, employers and schools.

Training Objectives:

Upon completion, the participant will be able to:
Apply decision making, including using references in the CRC code to suggest ethical solutions to ethical decisions.
Recognize a variety of scenarios provided by professionals who work in Vocational Rehabilitation and by individuals who specialize in specific counseling topics such as diagnosis, transition, specific disabilities, and a variety of roles within agencies including decisions that might involve support and administrative staff.
